Terms of Hove

Welcome to Hove Vehicle Hire Services. These Terms of Service (Terms) govern your use of our website hove.co.uk and our vehicle rental services. By using our services you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them.

1. Rental Terms

All vehicle rentals through Hove are governed by a detailed Rental Agreement issued at booking confirmation or when you collect the vehicle. This agreement sets out specific terms, conditions, insurance cover, fees, and your obligations for the relevant rental. If there is any conflict between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail for that booking.

2. Hove Eligibility

To hire a vehicle from Hove, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years old to rent with Hove (age limits may vary by vehicle type, and additional charges may apply for drivers under 25). Hold a valid, full driving licence that covers the vehicle category and has been held for the minimum period stated in the Rental Agreement. Provide valid identification and proof of address or other documentation Hove requires at the time of rental.

3. Hove Booking and Payment

  • Bookings can be made via our website, by phone, or in person at our Hove location. A booking deposit may be required to confirm your reservation. Full payment and a security deposit are normally payable on vehicle collection. All prices are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. ...

4. Hove Vehicle Collection and Return

  • At collection, inspect the vehicle and report any existing damage to Hove immediately. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by you and a Hove representative. Return the vehicle in the same condition as when collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be assessed by Hove and charged to you as applicable.

5. Insurance and Liability for Hove

  • Hove includes basic third-party insurance with every rental. Full coverage terms and excess amounts are set out in the Rental Agreement. You may be offered optional insurance to reduce your financial liability. We recommend that you review these options carefully. You are responsible for damage or loss up to the excess specified in the Rental Agreement.

6. Cancellation and Amendments

Hove's cancellation and amendment terms differ by booking type and notice period. Consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for the exact conditions. Late cancellations or no-shows can incur fees.

7. Hove Restrictions

You must not use the Hove vehicle for:

  • Use of a Hove vehicle for any unlawful purpose or activity. Racing, rallying, off-roading, or other hazardous activities. Transporting hazardous or dangerous materials in a Hove vehicle. Subletting to third parties or permitting unauthorized drivers. Operating a Hove vehicle while impaired by alcohol or drugs. Use for purposes outside the vehicle’s intended design or specifications.

Breaching these restrictions may result in immediate rental termination and additional charges imposed by Hove.

8. Limitation of Liability for Hove

To the maximum extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Hove is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data, or business arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant services in the 12 months immediately before the claim.

9. Hove Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, including courts sitting in Hove.

10. Updates to Terms

Hove may modify these Terms at any time. Changes become effective immediately upon posting on Hove's website. Your continued use of Hove's services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
